Cornelius Karlens Dekop
Governor, Bank of Botswana
Mr Cornelius Dekop is Governor of the Bank of Botswana (Bank). The Bank is responsible for domestic price and financial stability. Mr Dekop has served the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, both as an Alternate Executive Director and Executive Director. He has had an illustrious career in the public service, as Secretary for Development Programmes and Budget in the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security. His earlier career roles were in the field of economic planning. Mr Dekop holds a Master of Arts Degree in Development Economics (1992) Williams College, USA and Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics (1989). He has undertaken Executive Leadership education from amongst others, Harvard University and University of Chicago Business School.
