Mrs. Rita Faith Nansasi Wasswa is an advocate of the High Court of Uganda with over 17 (seventeen) years of comprehensive legal experience and expertise. She also has vast knowledge and experience in Corporate Governance practices. She is currently employed as the Chief Manager Legal Services / Board Secretary in the Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA). She has served as Acting Chief Executive Officer of URBRA since 15th May 2024 todate. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB), a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PGDLP) from the Law Development Center, Kampala and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI). She is Chartered Secretary and Governance Professional Advisor. Rita is a Graduate Member of the Chartered Governance Institute of UK & Ireland. She is an alumnus of the Leadership Development Female Future Programme. She is an alumnus of the CEO Apprenticeship Program. She is a Certified Professional Coach in Transformative Coaching. She represents URBRA on the Senior Officers’ Committee of the East African Community Sectoral Council, which is responsible for drafting the Bills for implementation of the East African Monetary Union (EAMU). She represents URBRA on the Legal and Technical Committee of the East African Pension Supervisors Association (EAPSA) and She is also the lead Counsel responsible for developing the East African Community Retirement Benefits Bill. Rita also represents URBRA at international forums including the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPS) and the Africa Pension Supervisors Association (APSA) where she serves as the Secretary.
