Christian is a distinguished expert in Investment Management, Risk Management, Digital Transformation and Impact Finance with over 30 years of experience. As the CEO and Founding Partner of Q-Lana, Christian has been at the forefront of improving digital transformation for financial institutions and asset managers. Q-Lana is a platform that pioneers embedding knowledge-based credit risk management and digital transformation into traditional banking systems and asset management practices. Additionally, he is establishing Q-Lana Investment Advisors in Kigali, Rwanda. He is a distinguished expert in Investment Management, Risk Management, and Impact Finance with rich experience spanning 35 years. His career includes significant roles in multinational financial institutions where he served as Deputy Treasurer, Managing Director of a Structured Investment Unit, and excelled in Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and Workout/Restructuring, working in Frankfurt, Mexico City and in New York. He has also held prominent positions such as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Risk Management for a fund manager in the impact investment sector. Since 2001, Christian has advised more than 120 Financial Institutions, Investees, and international organizations in developing countries, specializing in Risk Management, Investments, Corporate and SME Lending. In 2004, he initiated Proyecto Horizonte, a community development initiative in Bolivia, which now annually supports over 3000 children through educational, health, and community services programs. Christian is an alumnus of Frankfurt School in Germany, where he earned a master’s degree (Diploma) in Banking and Finance. He further holds credentials as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and is a lecturer at City University New York for Investment Management.
