Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Huza

Davis is an engineering leader with experience in building enterprise software in the USA and East Africa. He has 20 years building software at early-stage startups to large tech companies. He co-founded PesaChoice in 2015 with two friends to deliver quality software products tailored for the African Continent. PesaChoice delivered two robust software 1) payment platform that delivered remittance services to the diaspora in the USA sending money to Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Zimbabwe 2) coffee traceability software being used to manage over 100,000 farmers in Uganda, DRC, and Rwanda. He moved back to Rwanda in 2018 after 18 years, working for Fortune 500 companies in the USA to focus on delivering African solutions through PesaChoice. PesaChoice pivoted in November 2019 to focus on earned wage access (EWA) and human capital management and later rebranded PesaChoice to Huza in 2024. Huza is an international HR fintech with its headquarters in Rwanda and operating in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana. Huza offers comprehensive HR software ranging from employee management, employee self-service, payroll processing, performance/appraisal, absence management, earned wage access, etc. Prior to joining PesaChoice, Davis 2-years as a business process manager at Bboxx where he led the implementation of customer payments. Before joining Bboxx he was VP of product management at KivuTel leading the engineering team that worked on mobile apps for international calling. Before joining KivuTel, he was a product manager at ACI Worldwide for 4-years, one of the world leaders in payments solutions. Before joining ACI Worldwide, he worked at Dish Network for almost 7-years in different roles. At Dish Network, he started as a QA software tester then promoted to various levels as a software developer then promoted to software architect. Davis holds a Masters Degree in Information Systems from University of Phoenix in USA and a BSc in Information Technology and Mathematics from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, PA. Davis is a partner of “Vision Youth Group”, a non-profit organization that has a football club playing in Rwanda Premier League and a youth sports group.
