Dr. David Porteous

David helps individuals and organizations to reach better decisions to fulfill their purpose in the midst of complexity. Originally trained as an economist with degrees from UCT, Cambridge and Yale, he returned from graduate school to South Africa in 1993. He worked in the financial sector, setting up several new entities until relocating to the USA in 2004. Since then, he has founded or co-founded other companies serving the inclusive fintech and edtech sectors which are active around the world.

After stepping down from positions at two of the entities he had founded or co-founded, he established a new practice called Integral: Governance Solutions focused on improving governance in the tech startup and public-private sectors especially in emerging countries. This work enables him to identify, engage and support the next generation of entrepreneurs and changemakers across Africa and in other parts of the world.
