Henry Obike is the Chief Innovation Officer at I&M Bank Rwanda. He has a wealth of expertise in digital finance with bias in product development, business innovation, digital transformation and technology commercialization for business and market development.
He was responsible for digital financial services and innovation across multiple commercial banks in Ghana, Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire and Burkina Faso where he also held prominent management positions leading various transformational initiatives leveraging Bank and Telco partnership.
Prior to joining I&M Bank, Henry also played in the consulting world, where he took up the role of digital financial service expert at IPC GmBH (a notable German consulting institution based in Frankfurt) where he was the senior digital financial service expert responsible for strategy development and implementation of DFI funded digitalization initiatives for financial institutions and development partners across sub-Sahara Africa.
With over 26 years’ experience working in the financial sector and proven expertise in product development and business innovation across multiple markets including Rwanda, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Uganda, and francophone West Africa equips him with insights on key market drivers and strategic partnerships relevant for technology enabled ecosystem development.
Henry also holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation from the prestigious China Europe International Business School, Shanghai, China and a certified chief innovation officer and innovation leader from the Global Innovation Management Institute, USA.
