Beyond Payments: How Reusable Digital Public Infrastructures (DPIs) are Unlocking Inclusive Financial Ecosystems

Interoperability, at its core, is simple: can systems talk to each other in a way that creates value?

Across Africa and emerging markets, fragmented infrastructure and siloed data slow innovation and increase costs. Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) offers a different path - shared, reusable digital rails that governments and private innovators can build upon to unlock scale.

Interoperability is about governance, incentives, and trust. Without aligned standards and policy frameworks, Open Finance ecosystems and cross-border corridors cannot function effectively.

This session explores how shared standards, APIs, and trusted data exchange enable scalable financial ecosystems. Drawing on global policy leadership, Rwanda’s digital transformation experience, and insights into private-sector integration, speakers will unpack the practical steps needed to reduce fragmentation, accelerate innovation, and build inclusive financial systems that work across markets.
