Hope Murera

Hope Murera is the Managing Director and CEO of ZEP-RE, a highly-reputed Pan African Public-Private Partnership established to foster development of the (re)insurance industry and close the protection gap Hope's 25+ years experience in the Insurance/Reinsurance sector, including her tenure as Managing Director at SONARWA, contributes to her seasoned leadership. Her vision has positioned ZEP-RE as the premier inclusive insurance provider on the continent. Her guiding principle, 'There is no financial inclusion without insurance'. A staunch advocate for gender parity, she champions women in leadership, with 47% representation in senior roles and an annual Young Professionals Program with a bias towards young ladies in the insurance industry. Hope chairs the ACRE Africa Board, and is a board member for the Global Give Back Circle. Beyond her professional duties, Hope is a certified leadership coach and deeply committed to mentorship and empowerment of others. She holds an MBA from IMD International and a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from Makerere University, Uganda.
