Diego Perez Martin de Almeida is the President of the Brazilian Fintech Association (ABFintechs), representing one of the largest fintech ecosystems in Latin America. He also serves as Director of Treasury at Fintech Iberoamérica (FIA) and is a board member of the Global Fintech Alliance (GFA), actively contributing to cross-border regulatory dialogue and financial innovation initiatives.

With over two decades of experience in financial markets, digital assets, and regulatory advocacy, Diego has been directly engaged in shaping Brazil’s open finance, instant payments (Pix), crowdfunding, and digital asset frameworks. He maintains an ongoing institutional dialogue with the Central Bank of Brazil, the Securities Commission (CVM), the Ministry of Finance, and international multilateral organizations.

Diego is a co-founder of SMU Investimentos, a pioneer platform in tokenized investment and equity crowdfunding in Brazil. His work focuses on expanding access to capital markets, fostering competition, and leveraging technology to advance financial inclusion.

He holds an LL.M. in Financial and Capital Markets Law and has specialized in Digital Law and Telecommunications Law. A frequent international speaker, Diego participates in global fintech and digital finance forums across Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, advocating for interoperable, secure, and inclusive financial infrastructures.
