Ernest Kayinamura

Mr. Kayinamura is the Founder and CEO of Hexakomb Ltd, a software development and IT Consulting company based in Rwanda. He is a global executive with 20 years of experience in digital transformation. He currently servers as the Chairman of the Rwanda ICT Chamber as well as the Chairman of the Rwanda Fintech Association. At Hexakomb, he grew the company to one of the leaders in software development in Rwanda with a list of clients that include government institutions, international organizations, utility companies, and major corporations. In 2020, his company developed the first Made in Rwandan app to receive a #1 ranking on the Google Play store. The popular fintech app Nokanda app streamlines mobile money and other digital financial services. He is also listed as Top Under 40 CEO in Africa. In 2016, he was a finalist for the CNBC Africa Innovator of Year award for his contribution to the IT sector. Previously he served as Director of ICT for Enel North America, a multinational energy company and one of the world’s leading integrated electricity and gas operators with an annual turnover of 100 billion USD. He was responsible for budgeting, planning, and executing enterprise applications and technology infrastructure investments in the United States and Canada. Mr. Kayinamura holds an Executive Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management, an MBA from the Babson College School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Connecticut.
