Philip Gasaatura

Philip currently serves as a Managing Director for Open Space Capital a strategic investment platform that blends the rigorous approach of private equity with the agility of a venture capital. Philip also serves as Venture Partner for Katapult Africa VC, investing in and tech companies across Africa. Prior to his current roles, Philip served with the Government of Rwanda developing Rwanda’s strategy to become a Technology and Innovation Pan-African Hub under the flagship project of Kigali Innovation City, and was instrumental in the design and structuring of Rwanda’s first Government backed $100 million Venture Capital Fund. In his early career, Philip was a Senior Finance and Technology specialist for over 15 years’ in Investment Banking in the U.K, Philip led the implementation of several large scale credit and equity trading platforms at Citi Bank and ABN Amro. Philip holds an MSc Computer Science from University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and a BSc Computer Science and Mathematics from Makerere University, Uganda.
