Shaka Kwach

Shaka Philip John Kwach is the Chief Operating Officer (IT, Operations & GTM) – Technology Group and a seasoned digital infrastructure executive with nearly 30 years of experience across telecom networks, fintech systems, and national digital platforms.

He began his career during the formative expansion of a leading mobile network operator, working across the full telecom value chain — network design, nationwide base-station rollout, core network operations, and billing systems — helping establish one of Africa’s most resilient mobile networks. This experience in designing, building, and operating infrastructure at scale continues to inform his leadership today.

In his current role, Shaka oversees enterprise technology, platform operations, and go-to-market execution, including leadership of the Equitel portfolio as it evolves into a Pan-African Identity and Authentication platform. The strategy leverages SIM and eSIM infrastructure as a secure root of trust for financial services, government platforms, and cross-border digital ecosystems.

He has also led major platforms of national public interest in Kenya, including the digital modernisation of the National Police Service and large-scale health and agriculture platforms serving millions.

Shaka is recognised for combining telecom-grade reliability with digital innovation, positioning identity as foundational infrastructure for Africa’s next phase of secure and sovereign digital growth.
