Aimé Uwase is a Regional Integration Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, and the design and implementation of development projects and programs.
He has been actively engaged in the East African Community (EAC) integration process for the past 18 years. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Head of Planning and Research, coordinating the implementation of regional integration initiatives. He currently holds the position of Director of Planning, where he provides strategic oversight and coordination of projects and programs related to the EAC’s overall Development Strategies, Fiscal and Monetary Affairs, Financial Sector development, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Policy Research.
Prior to joining the EAC Secretariat, Aimé worked with CARE International as a Research Manager (2014–2016), where he led research projects and supported financial inclusion and market linkage programs.
He also served for six years as Director of Strategic Planning and Policy Research at Rwanda’s former Ministry of EAC, contributing to the implementation of regional projects across the sixteen EAC areas of cooperation.
