H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi

Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi is the Governor of the Central Bank of Somalia (CBS), appointed in 2019. With nearly three decades of experience in public finance, economic policy, and institutional reform, he leads CBS’s modernization agenda with a strong focus on digital financial ecosystem, including mobile money regulation, strengthened oversight of financial service providers, and implementation of a modern national payment system enabling interoperability across Somalia’s banking sector. He actively engages with regional and international counterparts to advance peer learning and collaboration on digital payment infrastructure, and cross-border interoperability. Mr. Abdullahi previously served as Senior Public Finance Policy Adviser in the Office of the Prime Minister.
