Tafara Makaza

Tafara Makaza is the Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Fixa, a workforce technology and embedded finance platform helping Africa’s largest employers manage, pay, and empower frontline workers.

At Fixa, Tafara leads product strategy and development across the company’s HR, workforce management, and financial services platform. The platform enables businesses in sectors such as construction, mining, and agriculture to digitize workforce operations while unlocking financial tools like Earned Wage Access for workers.

Under his product leadership, Fixa has onboarded more than 15,000 workers and enabled the disbursement of over USD 5 million in earned wages, expanding access to financial services for workers who have historically been excluded from the formal financial system.

Tafara holds a BA in Astrophysics and brings a systems-thinking approach to building scalable technology platforms that connect employers, workers, and financial services across emerging markets.
