Louise Mostert

Louise Mostert, based in Johannesburg, is an experienced financial services professional with deep expertise in cross border payments, market infrastructures, and stakeholder engagement across Sub Saharan Africa. She joined SWIFT in 2008 and has since held responsibility for several key markets in the Southern Africa region, supporting Market Infrastructures, commercial banks, and corporates on strategic initiatives and business development opportunities. Throughout her career at SWIFT, Louise has played a central role in advancing payments modernisation in the region — driving readiness, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the rollout of new services across the financial ecosystem. Her work spans operational enablement, market engagement, and collaborating with banks, regulators, and payment system operators to support industry development. Since January 2026, Louise has transitioned into a new role within the Swift Payments Scheme team, where she works closely with stakeholders across the Sub Saharan Africa region to support the implementation, adoption, and scaling of the Scheme. Her current focus includes readiness assessments, market activation, technical and operational enablement, and coordination across banks, intermediaries, and regional infrastructures to drive Scheme participation.
