Stephen David Mhya is a MINDS Scholar(Mandela Institute of Development Studies) at Carnegie Mellon University Africa, where he currently serves as president of the Africa Innovators Society.
Previously he has worked in financial industry in Nigeria, as a Database Administrator Managing Oracle and SQL databases.
Standing at the intersection of technical resilience and youth leadership, Stephen is dedicated to building the pipeline for the next generation of ethical African technologists. Through the Africa Innovators Society, he works to bridge the gap between academic potential and industry impact. He champions the concept of "Competence as Currency" advocating that secure, scalable infrastructure and competent youth leadership are the dual pillars required to drive Africa’s financial future.
