Spotlight on: Insurance & Wealth Management for Emerging Markets

Microinsurance products specifically designed for MSMEs, SMEs and low & middle income segments have the potential to cover around four billion people and generate premiums of up to US$40 Billion.

Several insurers have developed technology to design innovative distribution models, such as mobile-based products, to improve accessibility and affordability, most are successful in environments where regulation is:

  • Supporting and facilitating the use of technology and data analytics to better serve consumer needs
  • Enabling digital and alternative forms of distribution to allow insurers to reach more customers in remote areas cost effectively

On 22 June, the Inclusive FinTech Forum will deep dive into microinsurance, and wealth management solutions through the following fundamental questions:

  • What are the best-in-class cases of insurtech products that have successfully served the underserved?

  • Why is there a need for scalable and cost-effective solutions for micropension and microwealth management in emerging markets?

  • What are the opportunities, challenges, and impact of these solutions on financial inclusion and economic growth in emerging markets, including issues related to regulation, market infrastructure, and user adoption?
